Fortnite new map additions in Season 4 explained

A look at the new locations you can explore in Season 4's map.

Fortnite's map has been updated with a number of new locations and changes with the arrival of Season 4 and its new Battle Pass skins.

This map reflects some of the new Marvel themes of the season itself, especially with places like Doom's Domain (as in, Doctor Doom) but really it's a restoration of the usual map back to its usual earthiness, after the watery exploits of the previous season.

As with Chapter 2 Season 1, 2 and 3, you have to visit all of these locations in person before they reveal themselves on the map. But if you want to know exactly where you're going, this map page will come in handy.

On this page:

The map for Season 3 before it, Fortnite Season 4's map is slowly changing as weeks past, with pieces of the Marvel universe slowly appearing, and crushing, parts of the map. (Sorry Frenzy Farm!

Currently, the Season 4 map looks like this:

Within it are seventeen hidden named locations which only appear when you visit for the first time:

  • The Fortilla
  • Sweaty Sands
  • Salty Springs
  • The Authority
  • Stark Industries
  • Steamy Stacks
  • Catty Corner
  • Coral Castle
  • Holly Hedges
  • Weeping Woods
  • Slurpy Swamp
  • Misty Meadows
  • Lazy Lake
  • Retail Row
  • Craggy Cliffs
  • Doom's Domain
  • Dirty Docks

Note once you've done with these, there will be some locations left over to uncover. These are tied to specific landmarks, and once you found the landmark within that region, the surrounding greyed out areas will reveal themselves.

Fortnite Season 4 has arrived and it’s brought the Marvel universe with it, including Thor, Groot, Storm, Mystique and Iron Man. There’s also a new Victory Umbrella to earn, new map locations and a special Wolverine skin to unlock, with the challenges being investigating claw marks, finding the Loading Screen picture at a Quinject Patrol Site, Wolverine's Trophy and launching off the Sentinel Hands. Make sure you know how to drive a car and use the gas stations too! Don't forget to raid a Quinjet landing spot or The Collection location! Finally, there are new challenges for you to complete, including driving boats beneath the coloured bridges and visiting Panther's Prowl.

These locations will no doubt all feature in Challenges as part of the Fortnite Season 4 Battle Pass over time - so best get used to them.

Some certainly did last season - with the likes of damaging Sharks at Sweaty Sands, the Catty Corner Vault and Gnomes at unnamed landmark Homely Hills. Expect more like this for Season 4 soon!
