Fable III gets release date

Due out in late October.

Lionhead founder and Microsoft Game Studios' European boss Peter Molyneux has revealed that action RPG Fable III will be released on 26th October.

Molyneux was speaking at the Microsoft E3 conference in Los Angeles today.

Molyneux also showed us a new trailer for the game, in which the player is once more on a quest to save Albion - except this time he has to do it from the throne.

"Hand-holding, sword fighting, swan diving, fireball throwing, naval battles, explosions..." as Ellie put it in our live coverage. "What no dogs?" It will blatantly have dogs.

Molyneux didn't clarify whether Fable III will be released for PC and Xbox 360 at the same time.

Look out for our hands-on impressions of Fable III later this week.
