The PlayStation Experience

There was a time when ECTS was fought over by each major platform holder equally, but last year Sony well and truly stamped its authority all over the event, belittling the ailing trade show with the enormous consumer-facing PlayStation Experience event. Unsurprisingly, this year's effort will be better in every way, with more games, more glamour and more gimmicks. Not to mention a slew of never-before-seen titles, including updates to some of our favourite franchises like EyeToy: Groove and Pro Evolution Soccer 3, and pop acts ranging from those we've heard of (Big Brovaz, Audio Bullys) to those we haven't (Javine, Jamelia, Killa Kella).

Those of you keen to join us at the show can buy tickets online and in advance. The event runs from August 28th-31st, and if last year's was anything to go by, you'll walk away with a goodie bag containing demos and pens. Pens! It's worth it for that alone!

ECTS 2003

This year's ECTS press event will run from August 27th to 29th at Earls Court, London, and in keeping with tradition Eurogamer will be on hand to bring you live coverage of the show's main attractions. We'll also be spending time with some of the industry's top developers and publishers and chatting through their plans for the year to come, before trundling off every evening to get roundly slaughtered at whichever party we can blag our way into. (We're hardly going to convince you otherwise.)

As veterans of the event and similar efforts will know, the period leading up to the show is renowned for the influx of line-ups from publishers and developers keen to attract us to their expensive stands.
