Director of 300 to make videogames

In partnership with Electronic Arts.

Zack Snyder, the man who directed tip top historical fighting movie 300, is turning his attentions to videogames.

He's signed a deal with Electronic Arts to work on three new IPs. Apparently Snyder will "lead the creative direction of the games while working in partnership with the production team at EA Los Angeles".

His production company, Cruel & Unusual Films, will have the job of producing movies based on the games.

Snyder is currently directing the big screen version of comic book Watchmen. He won't have anything to do with the videogame tie-in, however. It's currently being developed by Deadline Games, and will be published by Warner Bros. for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 next year.

It's not the first time EA has teamed up with a big deal Hollywood director, of course - they're also working with Steven Spielberg on titles such as Boom Blox, which turned out rather well.
