One on one.

Destiny 2's Plug One.1 is a well known fusion rifle which has made its return to Destiny 2.

Debuting in Destiny 2 during Season of the Splicer alongside the likes of the Vex Mythoclast, Fatebringer, Hung Jury SR4 and the Uzume RR4, the Plug One.1 is a possible drop during Nightfall Strikes.

If you've been on the lookout for a new fusion rifle that excels in both PvE and PvP, you won't want to miss this weapon. This page explains how to get the Plug One.1 and our Plug One.1 god roll recommendation - alongside other rolls which might come in handy.

How to get Plug One.1 in Destiny 2

Six years after the Plug One.1 was a possible drop via Strikes in the original Destiny, this fusion rifle is back in the fray. We hope you have been practicing in the weeks before, as you will have to complete Nightfall Strikes for a chance to acquire it. As with the Uzume RR4, the iconic fusion rifle will be available during set weeks as part of Season of the Splicer.

You can see when it will next be available as part of our Nightfall weapon schedule explainer.

Remember, it's just a chance it can drop. The more you increase the difficulty, the better your chances will be. If you can get to at least one difficulty above Adept, this should set a nice foundation to stumble upon the weapon.

As a Legendary weapon, one would lead one to believe that the drop should be more regular than some Exotics. Sadly, that's not the case.

Once again rates continue to be arbitrary at best, and developer Bungie is yet to provide any official info on them. Relying on luck is something Destiny players are already accustomed with, but currently, Nightfall weapons have been rather elusive. Reddit user i-dont-grok-it completed over 30 Nightfall strikes in the span of a week, around half on Hero difficulty and the other half on Legend difficulty, for a chance to unlock the Hung Jury weapon. But they had no luck on this regard.

That same thread has multiple cases of other people's experiences, showcasing how much drop rates vary.

Starting Tuesday, June 22nd, Grandmaster Nightfall will become available in Season of the Splicer - this means an Adept version of this weapon is also up for grabs.

It still might be rare - but in theory, your chances should be better on such a high difficulty.

If you're wondering whether or not this task is worth the effort, let's look into the possible rolls and god roll for the Plug One.1.

The Season of the Deep is here alongside the Into the Depths quest. You can know go fishing too! Don't forget to keep an eye on the Lost Sector and King's Fall challenge rotation schedule!

Plug One.1 god roll recommendation in Destiny 2

Plug One.1 is a weapon with random rolls - meaning each time you get one, the barrel, rounds and perks will be randomised.

Coming up with a 'best' combination of rolls and perks is rather tricky since it will vary depending on your taste and the modes that you have in mind for the weapon. A few will be great for PvP, while others excel at PvE instead.

The community has baptized these 'god rolls' - mostly due to their sheer power and how they increase each weapon's capabilities even further, or compensate some weapons that might be lacking a buff to be optimal with the rest (thanks to DstinyNewsLatam on Twitter for the image in the next section).

Here is our recommended Plug One.1 god roll in Destiny 2:

  • Reservoir Burst
  • Liquid Coils
  • Feeding Frenzy (with Killing Wind or Under Pressure being the PvP alternatives)
  • Corkscrew Rifling

Let's start with PvE in mind. Reservoir Burst is one of the stars of the show. Whenever the weapon's battery is full, the next burst has additional damage and will cause enemies to explode on death, as well as adding +30 magazine.

There is a perfect pair for Reservoir Burst, and it's called Feeding Frenzy. Performing a rapid kill progressively increases reload speed for a short amount of time. Considering the Plug One.1 can deal quite the damage, these kills won't pose a trouble, especially in PvP. This means that you can easily start a cycle where reload time is reduced, you deal Reservoir Burst, and immediately begin 'charging' for the next one again with Feeding Frenzy.

Before diving into our second option, let's look at the other two columns. First, you're gonna want to pursue Liquid Coils, which trades -10 of charge time for +10 impact. As for the barrel, you can't go wrong with Corkscrew Rifling, which gives +5 to range, handling and stability.

Many players have been pursuing of these combinations, but even if you just obtain Reservoir and Burst, it will make for a very interesting synergy to play around in PvE.

If you're more interested in PvP, that's where Killing Wind comes into play. You won't be getting as many rapid kills in Crucible or Gambit than in PvE, but that doesn't mean your weapon won't be devastating enough to take down several enemies in a short period of time. With Killing Wind all final blows grant increased handling, mobility and weapon range for a short duration, so you can continue that chain and become unstoppable.

Lastly, if everything else fails and you end up with Under Pressure, this will guarantee improved stability and accuracy as the magazine gets lower, which is perfect to deal a tricky shot to that elusive Hunter if you miss the first chance.

As per usual, once you have your preferred roll, be sure to upgrade it to a Masterwork to give it a stat boost, ability to generate Orbs on multi-kills, and add the option of a kill tracker!
