Castlevania iPhone game coming soon

RPG meets Dr. Mario-style puzzle.

Konami has announced a Castlevania puzzle game for iPhone and iPod Touch. There's no mention of iPad.

The game, named Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night, will be "available soon", with pricing still to be announced.

Like genre-starter Puzzle Quest, Encore of the Night marries RPG with puzzle game underbelly. Here the puzzle emulates Dr. Mario, and requires gem colours to be matched in lines. These gems drop in pairs and may need rearranging before they settle.

While doing this, Castlevania characters duke it out centre screen. Heroes can be upgraded with new items as the story unfolds.

Take a peek in our Castlevania: Encore of the Night gallery.
