Capcom trademarks Mega Man Universe

Let the speculation commence.

A trademark filing for something called "Mega Man Universe" has popped up in the US Patent and Trademark Office's master database.

The trademark, filed just last week (thanks, superogatory), could refer to practically any type of game at this point - a new space-themed adventure, a massively multiplayer game, or even an Anniversary collection-style round up of past games.

Capcom's US trademark filings have a history of hinting at upcoming Western game announcements, from Okamiden to Ace Attorney: Miles Edgeworth.

The new filing is especially interesting in light of recent comments from Capcom's Seth Killian, who told Destructoid the Mega Man series has "some surprises in store for everybody" and that "there are exciting ideas in the Mega Man space".
