BioWare making Mass Effect for iPhone

Graphic novel-style prequel to ME2.

BioWare has revealed Mass Effect: Jacob's Story for iPhone, a two-hour "animated presentation" that will introduce the characters and story of Mass Effect 2.

Players will become biotic-powered soldier Jacob who saves humanity using a mixture of top-down arcade shooter combat and graphic novel-style story sequences, according to an online survey posted on Kotaku.

We're told the game will cost USD 2.99, although dates and specific gameplay details - such as how conversations will work - are unknown. We're trying to find out more.

Joystiq has the first clutch of pictures.
