More albums announced for Beatles: RB

Sergeant Pepper! Rubber Soul! Fin.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Rubber Soul will join Abbey Road as the first three Beatles albums available to download for The Beatles: Rock Band.

Confirmation comes from an exhaustive New York Times expose (found by Kotaku) on the game, which spans nine website pages and is well worth reading.

The article goes on to reveal that studio chatter between the band members - remastered by George Martin's son Giles Martin - will play during tuning-up sections. There are some previously unannounced songs outed too, such as "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Hey Bulldog" and "I'm Looking Through You".

And there's plenty more illuminating information within, including interviews with surviving band members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. "In 10 years' time you’ll be standing there, and you will be Paul McCartney. You know that, don’t you?" mused McCartney towards the end.

And did you know, for example, that Beatles licence requirements mean traditional Rock Band instrument improvisation sections had to be removed, and that the band cannot be booed off stage? The audience is not allowed to sing along either, and DLC must arrive as part of an album, although individual songs can be picked out.

The Beatles: Rock Band arrives on 9th September for PS2, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360.
