Bay says he knows best

And doesn't care anyway.

Transformers director Michael Bay believes the film industry prefers Blu-ray over its rival HD-DVD format.

He was challenging fans who were disputing his knowledge on the pros and cons of the two formats after his outburst on Wednesday, stating he knew best because he made the film in the first place.

"Does anyone out here want to challenge what I feel suits my films better in terms of look?" croaked Bay on his official forum. "I see every frame of my films over a hundred times before it is ever released."

"I know the lighting conditions I shot and the result on the DI. I know the range. I know what the final product should look like - Blu-ray suits my films better."

Earlier this week, Bay burst out with claims that Microsoft was pouring huge amounts of money into HD-DVD in order to compete against and make its rivals fail, passing time until it could perfect and capitalise on digital distribution.

However, in a desperate bid to soothe the 30 pages of arguments responding to his comments, Bay said he was far from bothered about the whole thing anyway, and merely repeating what his dramatic chums had told him while eating canaps or something.

"But that said - I don't a care about this format war because I have both formats in my screening room - I'm just filling you in on what people deep in the film industry feel ultimately is going on."

Bay is currently working on a sequel to Transformers and book adaptation 2012: The War for Souls.
