Battlefield BC 2 PS3 beta confirmed

This month. Details and video inside.

DICE has confirmed that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will enjoy a one-month beta test, on PS3 only, starting on November 19th.

It's exactly as was leaked then pulled by GameStop earlier this week. The beta will be open to anyone who pre-orders the game.

The beta will feature one map, a new one, called Arica Harbor. It has a Chilean setting and is built for a game mode called Rush, which is a spin on the original game's Gold Rush. The mode is "intense", according to associate producer Gordon Van Dyke. "Arica Harbor is hands-down one of the best maps I've played on Battlefield."

Take his word for it, says Eurogamer contributor Christian Donlan, who was on hand to try out the map. "It is quite lovely," he said.

"It feels sort of medium-sized, but there's a lot of variety: a beach running down the east side, and above that a kind of bombed-out town or construction site with lots of split level buildings and mazes of chain-link fencing," Christian said.

"There are plenty of tank routes, and a train bridge that provides a kind of hemmed-in corridor area where I kept getting shot."

The game is out on 5th March 2010 for PC, PS3 and 360. More at the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 gamepage.
