You have to decide between Gerhild and Lork and, if you wish to know the answer, then this page will reveal who the traitor is in Old Wounds.

Be wary though, this page does contain spoilers for Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

If you'd like to know more about Assassin's Creed Valhalla, we have pages on changing Eivor's appearance, Soma's traitor, returning to Norway with the Atlas and some flyting tips.

How does the Old Wounds mission and deciding Rollo's traitor works in Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Eivor must choose the correct traitor between two of Rollo's trusted warriors in Chapter 2 of A Breviary of Broken Hearts, mission Old Wounds.

Eivor is summoned to Essexe by Ealdorman Birstan. Arriving at Colcestre, Eivor meets Estrid, Birstan's wife who asks Eivor to find her husband out in the woods.

In meeting with the both of them, Eivor learns of their risky plan to take Estrid back to Francia and to bring in Birstran's old flame to take her place (An Uncommon Proposition). It seems that both want out of the marriage, but laws prevent it.

To succeed in this plan, Eivor must find Alfida, Birstan's childhood sweetheart (Childhood Sweetheart) and get Estrid out of Colcestre (Old Wounds).

To get Estrid out of Colcestre, Eivor needs to find a young captain named Rollo. Unfortunately, Rollo's camp has been attacked and his men captured.

Knowing that he has a traitor in his camp, Rollo asks Eivor to identify who it is.

The new DLC is here - and we explain how to start The Siege of Paris, as well as new romance options and Treasure Hoard locations. Who is Rollo's traitor during Old Wounds in Assassin's Creed Valhalla?

After gathering evidence at the camp and talking to both Lork and Gerhild, Eivor has to choose the correct traitor, with the choices being:

  • The traitor is Gerhild.
  • The traitor is Lork.
  • I need more time.

The choice you need to make here is Gerhild.

How does the Rollo's traitor choice during Old Wounds affect Assassin's Creed Valhalla?

Choosing Gerhild results in her immediate death and, towards the end of the story arc, Lork shields Estrid from an oncoming attack.

If you choose Lork, then Estrid is injured while trying to escape to Francia.

When it comes to the other story choices in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, we also have pages on Soma's traitor, killing or sparing Leofrith, killing or sparing Reud, taking or leaving the resources in England, whether you should punch Basim and if you should tell Ubba the truth about Ivarr's death.
