Starbreeze cancels on Swing

Publisher goes bust, developer goes elsewhere

Swedish Enclave developer Starbreeze has cancelled all outstanding contracts concerning the gorgeous gothic hackandslash title and its sequel with publisher Swing Entertainment, claiming that the publisher has not settled their payments and has filed for insolvency.

Enclave was in the process of being ported to PC, PS2 and GameCube. It's not clear how Swing's insolvency will affect Starbreeze financially (and the firm will be talking to the publisher's trustees on how assets can be secured most appropriately), but obviously the game is now seeking a new publisher.

With this in mind, interested parties should know that by the end of 2002, the Xbox version of Enclave had apparently sold 177,000 copies worldwide.
