Square considers FFVII sequel

The sequel to ‘Square considers bank balance’

Final Fantasy series producer Yoshinori Kitase has told Famitsu that Square may consider a direct sequel to Final Fantasy VII, in the same way that Yuna is being dragged out for Final Fantasy X-2, the immediate and unconventional successor to Final Fantasy X.

Kitase-san also admitted that a sequel to FFVII - a game with legions of devoted fans the world over - couldn't possibly afford to be subpar, Gameforms reports. And as they also point out, hopefully any future FFVII-2 won't see Cloud leaping about in hot pants.
