JoWood gets a Fishtank

Etherlords, Aquanox and SWINE finally set to reach the rest of Europe

After months of wrangling, German publisher Fishtank Interactive has finally found itself an international publishing partner to handle its games overseas. Step forward Austria's JoWood Productions, the publisher behind last year's excellent isometric action-adventure game Zax and motor racing title Rally Trophy amongst other releases. The deal covers a host of countries, and although we're not convinced there's a big market for video games in Iraq, vital territories such as the UK, Scandinavia, Holland and Italy are also included in the deal, as well as Spain, Portugal, Greece, Australia, much of Eastern Europe and the Middle East and parts of Africa. The full list can be found in the press release. What this means for gamers in the relevant countries is the long overdue arrival of submarine action-adventure game Aquanox and role-playing strategy hybrid Etherlords, as well as the bizarre looking real-time strategy game SWINE and a host of less well-known titles. All of these games are now expected to be released within the next three months. Looking further ahead, this should also mean more timely releases for forthcoming games such as Call of Cthulhu and Arx Fatalis. Which has to be good news for gamers in the effected territories.
