The world's first multiplatform controller

X-tremely interesting

XGAMING, INC, one of a growing number of developers specialising in peripherals, is set to demonstrate its latest technology at E3 this week. The X-Arcade is the world's first multi-platform gaming device using XGAMING Inc's patent pending X-PORT technology (note: definitely not related to Datel's X-Port). The technology is apparently receiving industry wide recognition, and works with PSOne, PlayStation 2, Dreamcast, PC, MAC, Xbox, GameCube and even Nintendo 64 amongst others. Thanks to its modular approach, a single adaptive device is the only thing needed to ensure compatibility with new consoles. The X-Arcade emulates the classic arcade stick controller, with buttons and arcade parts for two players (20 buttons in total) and even side pinball buttons. Hand constructed out of wood, the panel aims to replicate the arcade gaming experience at home on any gaming system, with (here's the snag) the purchase of separate gaming system adapters. Thankfully, for people who do own multiple systems, the X-Arcade won't be that painful on the old wallet because each adapter costs a pittance, and in any case (XGAMING are hoping) the controller will endear itself to gamers enough to sell on its own merits in a packed market. As if to demonstrate its considerable appeal, arcade supremos Capcom will be using the X-Arcade at E3 to demonstrate PS2 and Dreamcast releases.
