Third person fantasy action game to be revamped for Microsoft's über-console

Spanish developer Rebel Act Studios have announced that their hit third person action game Severance : Blade of Darkness is currently being redesigned for the Xbox. Features for Ultimate Blade of Darkness, as the new game has been dubbed, will apparently include new and improved levels, smoother animations, a two player split-screen mode and an array of brand new co-operative missions to take advantage of it. Also promised are improvements to the control system, 3D positional audio and, of course, more blood.

This is why they call it Severance, ladies and germs

All of this is going to take time unfortunately, which means that we're not likely to see the Xbox version of the game until Christmas 2002. Also confirmed is a Severance sequel, currently pencilled in for release some time in 2003. Details are few and far between at this stage, but we may know more after E3.
