Business booming at UbiSoft

Transitional year? Pah!

UbiSoft released their latest results last night, showing net sales booming by almost 40% to €260m during the twelve months to the end of March. Even more impressive, sales in the last three months of their financial year were up by 52% compared to the same period the previous year, largely thanks to a string of take-overs which has seen the company pick up the likes of Red Storm, Blue Byte and the publisher-formerly-known-as-Mattel-Interactive in recent months.

Leading the charge for UbiSoft were England and Germany, with the publisher seeing its sales triple in both countries, and growth in the USA was also strong "in spite of a slackening in the market". Looking ahead, this year should see the release of a string of potential hits for the French-based publisher, including Myst III and a pair of new Rayman titles, as well as several promising new games such as Dragon Riders, Conflict Zone and Pool of Radiance.
