EA cancels Jane's Attack Squadron

Rich "Zdim" Carlson sent along word that Electronic Arts has decided to drop "Jane's Attack Squadron" (formerly known as "Flight Combat"), a game which was nearing completion at Looking Glass Studios when the developer closed down recently. This is despite a campaign to save the game that raised almost 5000 signatures.

The good news though is that a few other publishers have expressed interest in the game, so perhaps it will see the light of day after all. As Dan from fan site Through The Looking Glass commented - "There is little more heroic than fighting for a lost cause. Let's keep our hopes up that Flight Combat finds a new publisher."

In related news, GamesDomain have posted an editorial about the company's demise, and Through The Looking Glass has posted a big article covering the recent history of Looking Glass and all the reasons behind the company's closure.
