Pro-gaming as a sport

According to Angel Munoz, founder of The CPL, the organisation is aiming "to have our events reviewed in every sports section of every paper in the world. We want sports reporters and television crews to cover our events. We want to be a mainstream sport. These players are athletes, just as football or basketball players are athletes."

Angel is quoted in an article in the San Antonio Express-News, which talks about the recent Razer-CPL event and the rise of gaming as a sport. Interestingly it also includes the first mention (that I can remember seeing) of the CPL holding a women-only tournament at their next big event in Dallas.
