are reporting that North American Gateway will be opening a new 0800 net access service here in the UK on November 1st, going by the imaginative name of CallNet0800.

According to the story, they will offer no-catch 24/7 free net access. No doubt pigs will also fly, and money will grow on trees. We'll have to wait and see how it shapes up... In the meantime, check here for the full scoop.

On a similar note, The Register have also posted this funny story about another 0800 ISP, 08004u, in which they describe their own service as "absolutely appalling".
