Hello Games teases No Man's Sky's Origins update, out next week

"The beginning of something new".

Space exploration sim No Man's Sky is expanding once more, with developer Hello Games now teasing its mysterious new Origins update, due to arrive on PC and consoles next week.

There's little in the way of specifics regarding the update at present, but Hello Games calls it "the beginning of something new, as No Man's Sky continues to grow and evolve."

But while the developer hasn't explicitly detailed the features coming in Origins, it has released a (fairly small) bit of artwork to accompany the news, and it's almost certainly worth a squint and a scour in case it holds a few tantalising clues...

BUT WHAT CAN IT MEAN!?

"We know there is a huge appetite in the community for No Man's Sky content," Hello Games wrote in its announcement, "and the team has worked our socks off this year to deliver in difficult circumstances. We have been quiet, but we are always listening and focusing on improving the game that our team loves and feels so passionately about."

It's been a busy year for No Man's Sky of course, with Hello Games adopting a considerably more regular update cycle in 2020 than in past years. So far, we've seen the introduction of living ships, big stompy exo-mechs, spooky abandoned space stations to explore, cross-play, even dashboard bobbleheads - all of which have helped further enrich the spacefaring core established at the game's release back in 2016.

Hello Games says it'll share full details of Origins - No Man's Sky's eleventh named update, if you were wondering - alongside its PS4, Xbox One, and PC release next week.
