Netflix Beyond Good & Evil film announced

When pigs fly.

Netflix has announced it's working on a Beyond Good & Evil film.

Hot on the heels of confirmation Netflix is working on an animated Splinter Cell series, the streaming service revealed it's making a movie based on Ubisoft's space pirate adventure, too.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Beyond Good & Evil movie is directed by Detective Pikachu and Goosebumps director Rob Letterman.

The film is described as a hybrid live-action/animated feature. It's early days, and the search is on for writers to adapt the game.

The news comes at a time when Beyond Good & Evil 2 is in desperate need of an update. The prequel to Michel Ancel's 2003 cult classic finally resurfaced in June 2017, nearly a decade after it was initially teased, and it was then shown to press the following year, at E3 2018. But the game skipped E3 2019, and we haven't seen anything of it so far in 2020. Perhaps Beyond Good & Evil 2 will show up at one of Ubisoft's upcoming digital events?
