Normal People stars join Mario Kart tournament for CALM

Raising money for mental health helpline during lockdown.

Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones, AKA Normal People's Connell and Marianne, will take part in a Mario Kart 8 tournament tonight for mental health charity CALM.

They'll join comedians Iain Stirling, Jon Richardson and Seann Walsh, YouTuber Joe Sugg, rugby player Anthony Watson, footballer Tyrone Mings and musician Tom Grennan tonight in a tourney streamed via Twitch.

It's all in aid of Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), which has seen demand for its helpline rocket during lockdown.

CALM says it has taken 19,000 calls since lockdown was announced in the UK on 23rd March and directly prevented 80 people taking their lives.

Tonight's tournament is designed to raise a smile, and a few quid for the charity to continue running its phoneline at a time it is needed more than ever.

You can watch it all unfold via CALM's Twitch channel from 7pm UK time tonight.

CALM's free and confidential helpline and webchat are open every day from 5pm until midnight. The number is 0800 58 58 58.
