A new "Zero XP" bug is preventing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players from levelling up their battle passes

"Whatever got messed up on the back end of this update needs to be fixed."

A new bug is preventing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players from securing XP.

Affecting players on both the base game and its battle royale mode, Warzone, the 'zero XP' bug is reportedly preventing players from amassing further XP for their battle pass progress.

"I just played three rounds without earning any XP for my character or my battle pass. Are you serious about this?" complained one player (thanks, Dexerto). "I pay for the battle pass and you give me nothing and a buggy game in return?"

"Whatever got messed up on the back end of this update needs to be fixed," added another. "By the time I wait 10 minutes for a lobby to connect, I can't get any XP, and if I'm about to, I [crash to desktop] before the XP is even awarded. This is absolutely horrendous and they need to figure this out. When do we as players start to get reimbursements for our time and frustration?"

Right now there's no sign of the glitch on Infinity Ward's public Trello board, so it might be a little while before players can expect a fix.

That's not the only glitch that's popped up this weekend, either. Yesterday, Wes reported that a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare player had encountered a glitch that let them play in third-person.

The first-person shooter series never normally lets players change the player's camera perspective, but redditor Tkade14 found themselves playing in third-person after a glitch of some sort during a revive.
