Brace yourself for another big Call of Duty: Modern Warfare patch download

Payload.

Infinity Ward has signalled another big patch download is coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare this week.

Tuesday, 28th April's update weighs in at 15GB on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as is required to access Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward said in a blog post.

This update brings with it a data pack download, Infinity Ward said. Once you install the patch and select a mode (multiplayer, campaign or Spec Ops), you will be brought to a game install menu. Here, you need to download Data Pack 1 from the menu. Once the download is complete, you need to hard close and reopen the game app.

This week's update is another hefty download for a game that has already ballooned to a 175.2GB install footprint on a base PS4. On 8th April, with the start of season three of Call of Duty, Infinity Ward released a big patch for Modern Warfare that weighed in at 11.7GB on PS4, 13.6GB on Xbox One and 16GB on PC. A few weeks later, we have another 15GB to download.

It won't be long before my PS4 is basically my Call of Duty player.

As for tomorrow's update, Infinity Ward said it includes a few fixes for various bugs (patch notes in full will be released soon).

A playlist update is inbound, too. Modern Warfare will see Shoot the Ship 24/7 (now with Cranked and Grind in the mix) along with some fun Gunfight variations. There's also the Obsidian camo to grind for, and the ability to mix and match blueprint weapon attachments, even on another blueprint weapon.
