Hello Games' The Last Campfire re-emerges for summer launch

On Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

It's been over a year since the announcement of The Last Campfire, Hello Games' first new project since No Man's Sky.

But, happily, today brings news of a release window and launch platforms - along with a haunting new trailer to gaze at while you wait.

The Last Campfire is being spearheaded by team members who worked on Frontier Developments' fondly remembered Wii adventure LostWinds, and today's new footage provides a beautiful, melancholic look at its world.

"It's an adventure game where you play as Ember, trapped in a puzzling place, searching for meaning and a way home," Hello Games said in a new update on the game passed to Eurogamer today. "At its heart, it is the story of rekindling hope in an otherwise hopeless world."

Sounds good to us.

The Last Campfire is set for a summer launch on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
