SNES games are finally coming to Switch Online

16-bit of good news.

Nintendo will finally open the doors to its SNES game library for Switch Online.

20 games launch tomorrow (Thursday 5th September), including Super Mario Kart, Super Mario World 2, and Zelda: Link to the Past. Here's the full rundown:

  • Super Mario World
  • Super Mario Kart
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • Super Metroid
  • Stunt Race FX (Available for the first time since its riginal SNES release)
  • Kirby's Dream Land 3
  • Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
  • Star Fox
  • F-Zero
  • Pilotwings
  • Kirby's Dream Course
  • Brawl Brothers
  • Breath of Fire
  • Demon's Crest
  • Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics
  • Super EDF Earth Defense Force
  • Super Ghouls'n Ghosts
  • Super Puyo Puyo 2 (Available for the first time in Europe)
  • Super Soccer (Available for the first time since its original SNES release)
  • Super Tennis (Available for the first time since its original SNES release)

Over the past year, Switch owners who subscribe to the platform's online service have been graced with dozens of classic games - but, it's fair to say, this has more or less now run its course.

A Nintendo Switch SNES controller, first spotted via an FCC filing a couple of weeks ago, will also be available soon.
