Cyberpunk 2077 will also be a card game

Deckard stacked against you.

Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a card game spin-off to launch in 2020.

Fully titled as Cyberpunk 2077 - Afterlife: The Card Game, this standalone deck-based take on CD Projekt Red's role-player will also be set in the game's Night City locale.

Players will take on the roles of Fixers, Cyberpunk's well-connected agents who deal in smuggled goods and information, who then hire cyberpunks to do their bidding.

Coming 57 years early.

It's a kind of reversal of the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay we've seen so far, where you play as the cyberpunk V who is sent on missions by Fixers like Dexter DeShawn.

As a Fixer, you'll need to amass a team of cyberpunks, properly equip them, then send them on missions.

"Each successful mission raises your Street Cred," the game's description goes on to reveal, "with mission survivors becoming Veterans, imparting their knowledge and experience to newer recruits. In this chrome-infused world, Street Cred is the only currency that matters."

You'll need to balance which cyberpunks and upgrades you can afford with a limited budget, and know which upgrades to sacrifice to get the job done.

It's an interesting idea - and if you get done with Cyberpunk 2077's base campaign, something you can be doing while waiting for the already-planned Cyberpunk 2077 follow-up.
