Dauntless release time on PS4, Xbox and PC, plus Dauntless crossplay, Switch and mobile versions explained

Find out when you can get your hands on Dauntless's full launch on consoles and PC.

Dauntless is a free-to-play monster hunting game from Phoenix Labs, a team comprised of developers from Riot Games, BioWare other studios.

After a beta period of PC, Dauntless is now available on PS4 and Xbox One, as well as relaunching on PC through the Epic Games Store.

It's possible to play Dauntless crossplay between certain systems - with the possibility of Dauntless Switch and Dauntless mobile crossplay down the line, too.

Dauntless release time on PS4, Xbox One and PC

Dauntless launches on all platforms on Tuesday, May 21st, with the same Dauntless PS4, Xbox and PC release time:

  • UK: 3pm (GMT)
  • Europe: 4pm (CET)
  • East Coast US: 10am (EDT)
  • West Coast US: 7am (PDT)

Though developer Phoenix Labs has confirmed the above Dauntless release times, as with any game launch, the timing could vary slightly per platform.

There will be no Dauntless pre-load available, meaning assuming all goes smoothly, the above times is when you can start downloading the client and get playing.

Remember, the only way to get Dauntless on PC is through the Epic Games Store - there are no plans for a Steam version for now.

You can read the Dauntless patch notes to see what's new in the console and Epic Store release.

Dauntless crossplay and cross progression explained

Dauntless offers crossplay and cross progression between PS4, Xbox One and PC at launch, as confirmed by Phoenix Labs account RobinatorPHX on reddit:

This means logging in with your account on any platform will allow you to continue your Dauntless progress - and play with others on the system of their choice.

Dauntless crossplay was a vision for the game from the very start. Here's the official statement on the developer's intentions:

"We think that Slayers should be able to play together no matter where they're playing from - be it Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or the Epic Games store. That's why we're hard at work making "One Dauntless" a reality."

To clarify this further, when replying to users on Twitter, the official account said it is "aiming for a totally cross-platform and cross-progression experience".

Is Dauntless coming to Nintendo Switch and mobile?

The short answer is yes - there are Switch and mobile versions of Dauntless in development.

The longer answer is they're not here yet - Dauntless Switch, iOS and Android aren't launching alongside the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions, and there's no estimated release date, either. All we know is Phoenix Labs is working on them.

With Dauntless crossplay on offer for existing platforms, it's likely crossplay is also the aim for the Switch and mobile versions, too.
