Fortnite is getting Jurassic World-style hamster ball vehicles

Round round get around.

A few weeks ago, Epic Games hinted in an AMA that Fortnite would be getting a brand new single-player vehicle. The latest news feed update has revealed exactly what this is: a rolling hamster ball with a cushy-looking seat.

And, in a very down-with-the-kids way, it's called The Baller.

The new vehicle, which feels distinctly like a Jurassic World gyrosphere, comes equipped with a grappler, suggesting players can use it to swing between buildings. Whether that layer of hardened plastic will provide any form of protection is another matter. Also, do they work on water? I have questions.

I came in like a T-Rexing ball.

From rummaging around the game files, Fortnite dataminer lucas7yoshi managed to discover the balls will also have charger bases. I don't know why he's quite so upset with the hamster balls. They see me rollin', they hatin'.

We don't yet know the the time of arrival for this spherical wonder, but it could come as soon as the next patch (due sometime this week). Maybe we'll be zorbing around the island pretty soon.

Meanwhile, in the world of Fortnite lawsuits, the artists hoping to take Epic to court have had to temporarily drop their lawsuits. This is due to a Supreme Court ruling which stated plaintiffs cannot sue unless their work has been registered with the US copyright office. Guess they won't be making 2 Milly off that.
