Finding Golden Balloons is one of Fortnite's many Weekly Challenges.
Completing Pop Golden Balloons will give you additional XP to help go towards your many Season 7 rewards.
If you're just getting started, our Fortnite Battle Royale tips and tricks can provide some helpful hints.
Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. That said, there are still plenty of other Fortnite Challenges as part of the Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass. These include finding oversized phone, big piano and giant Dancing Fish Trophy locations, plus Fortnite Air Vent locations and Fortnite Sky Platform locations. There are also new Fortnite Fortbyte locations to discover and Utopia Battle Star locations and a new Victory Umbrella to earn, too. And, for a limited time only, there's the Fortnite John Wick event.
Fortnite Balloon Locations
Though you need to find 10 locations, thankfully there are many more across the map.
Here are 19 we've found so far - more than enough to complete the challenge.
In closer detail, the Golden Ballon locations are:
Tomato Temple, at the top of a structure to the north-west:
North edge of the map, west of the river and behind a rock:
Desert oasis, on the boat in the middle:
East of Paradise Palms, on a cart in the middle of a yard:
West of Lucky Landing, behind a mountain on the cliff edge:
In a cave in the south of the frozen area, found by dropping down a hole in the middle of some trees and inside a shack within:
Frosty Flights, on a sign post halfway down the runway:
East of the Viking Village, at the campfire next to the winding path down:
Motel east of Junk Junction, inside the sign:
Lonely Lodge, at the base of the tall Ranger Tower to the south:
Dusty Divot, on the southern tip of the central structure's open roof:
Haunted Hills, on top of the roof at the central structure to the west:
Loot Lake, on a boat to the east in the water (next to the E of Loot Lake on the map):
Salty Springs, from a fence off the back of a house to the north-west:
South-east of Retail Row, on the back of the bear statue:
Tilted Towers, on the back of a car in the north-east corner (above the second T in Tilted on the map):

The Season 9 Battle Pass has arrived - which you can read in more detail thanks to Fortnite patch notes - alongside new Fortnite Challenges.
How do you complete Pop Golden Balloons?
For the Week 9 Challenges, you are tasked with the following:
- Pop Golden Balloons (10 total, 10 Battle Stars)
Unlike Chilly Gnomes, Golden Balloons don't make a sound when you get near them. But they are easy to spot from a middle distance, especially since they are atop a piece of string.
Even with that knowledge, some are very well hidden, so knowing the specific locations - which are detailed on the first half of this page - will help.
When you find one, you have to pop it. You can do so by shooting at it with a weapon, or hitting it with your axe. Doing so will make it disappear, and will be added to your total.
Do this a total of ten times to complete the challenge. As with other challenges, you must do these as you play matches (you cannot enter the map without other players), so you'll have to avoid combat encounters as you attempt to find each location.
When you are done, there are plenty of other Challenges to take on this week - so keep playing!
