Pokémon Let's Go Rocket Game Corner and Team Rocket Hideout - available Pokémon, items and trainers

Our complete Pokémon Let's Go walkthrough and guide to your big adventure with Pikachu or Eevee.

Rocket Game Corner and the secret Team Rocket Hideout are available to be tackled as soon as you reach Celadon City after arriving via Route 7 in your quest through Pokémon Let's Go's main story.

Below, we'll cover any and all of the obtainable Pokémon, item locations, trainers and their squads that you might encounter in the area, as well as walking you through any key steps of the story along the way.

We've also opted to break out walkthrough pages down into sections, referring to each of your visits to a given location, seeing as you often backtrack or revisit various places in your quest to become Champion! Where applicable, we'll split our page into one section for each visit, and of course if there are any, clearly mark any spoilers, too!

For more like this, be it specific systems explainers or walkthrough pages on more locations, head back to our main Pokémon Let's Go walkthrough and guide hub.

Pokémon Let's Go: Celadon Game Corner Team Rocket Hideout

You can tackle Celadon City's Rocket Game Corner, AKA the secret Team Rocket Hideout, as soon as you reach Celadon City - so before the Gym if you like - but we recommend doing the Gym first, purely because it's a nice warm up for this lengthier challenge.

You're going to be facing a lot of Poison-type Pokémon here, as well as a mixture of Flying- and Electric-types, so we recommend Psychic and Ground attacks, plus some Rock or Electric just in case if you have them. If in doubt, teaching your partner Pokémon the respective attacks from the Move Tutor in the Pokémon Center worked plenty well enough for us!

Rocket Game Corner itself works quite similarly to how it did back in the original games: there's a secret entrance to their hideout somewhere in the arcade. Battle the Grunt with the single Raticate, that's standing in front of a poster with a Rocket on it, and then interact with the poster to open the secret staircase over on the left!

Downstairs, there are four levels: B1F (with a separate area on it we call B1F-2), B2F, B3F, B4F and B4F-2, another walled-off area. Think of them as Basement one, Basement two, and so on. We'll split our instructions, items, and trainer lists up by floor in chronological order, so in the order you reach them, below.

Rocket Game Corner B1F

On B1F you'll notice a locked gate in the bottom right corner of the area. You can't get past here, so beat the two Grunts on the floor, get the items, and proceed down to B2F.

Available Items

ItemLocation
5x Ultra BallsB1F, head left past the first Grunt and down into the room with a couple computers
3x Mighty CandiesB1F, head right past the other Grunt and down, and it's under the table
Team Rocket SetB1F, from the 'beautiful spy' if you answer you're here to beat Team Rocket, head straight down to the dead end and she's looking at a box

On B2F it's time for a classic Pokémon environmental puzzle: on the floor are some travellators - tiles with arrows on them - which will whisk you in the direction they're pointing when you walk on them. You can get sent on quite a spin if you don't think about where you're going! Here's how to get through the puzzle collecting every item as you go.

  1. Take the lower of the two to stop on the top left corner of the room, then walk your way along the top to find a Nugget.
  2. Now do the same again but head down at the end, and pick up an Awakening on your left.
  3. Keep working your way from yellow stop to yellow stop until you get near the bottom right of the area, and then you have a choice: left and back up into the maze of travellators or right to progress on.
  4. Go left if you want to grab the PP Up, right if you just want to crack on!

As you exit the maze of travellators you'll find a lift, but it needs a key to work. Remember that! Continue on up the stairs then.

The stairs by the lift will take you to a walled-off area back on B1F, which we'll call B1F-2. There are a couple of items to get and Grunts to beat here, but nothing else. So clear that out and then take the nearby travellator back to the entrance of B2F and take the staircase down again there, to B3F.

Rocket Game Corner B1F-2

Just a couple of items to collect and Grunts to battle here, so clear this area then go back to B2F, and do as we said just above: take the nearby travellator back to the entrance of B2F and take the staircase down again there, to B3F.

Rocket Game Corner B3F

Down on B3F you'll find plenty more items, another Grunt, and another travellator puzzle!

  1. Head into the maze via the first travellator, in the top right of the maze, and walk across the yellow stop pad to get a Rare Candy
  2. Then go back out the top of the maze and enter it from the upper left, and hang left instead.
  3. On this left hand side, walk your way down to the bottom left corner past the X Speed, and you'll see a row of five travellators in a diagonal line, all pointing to your right. You want to take the one that's second from bottom to progress out of the maze.

Battle past the second Grunt on this floor, and down the stairs on the right to the lowest floor, B4F

Rocket Game Corner B4F

On this lower floor, you'll find a couple of items and then another Grunt guarding an item on a desk - it's the Lift Key! Take him out!

But instead of giving it to you, he throws it on top of the wall to your right!

Head over to the wall where the Key's been thrown, and your partner Pokémon - Pikachu or Eevee - will make a noise. Maybe they could get it!

Up at the top end of the room there's a vent, interact with the wall there and you'll get a hint that maybe there's a way you can get your Pokémon up there - you need to find something they can climb up on. The chair over on the left should do! Go and interact with it for a short cutscene.

Once that little clip's over you'll be in charge of your own Pokémon! Run them up the vent and quickly go to the right for a little snapshot of the conversation next door. Then go left and all the way around until you reach the ball with the Key in it, then hop back down to resume control of you, the Trainer!

Now you have to use that elevator to get to the boss next door. Go back up the stairs to B3F and take the nearest travellator for a shortcut to the previous set of stairs.

Back on B2F, retrace your steps through the maze until you reach the bottom right hand side, and can use the lift. Down to B4F-2 it is!

Rocket Game Corner B4F-2

Up ahead on the B4F-2 area, reached via the lift, your path will be blocked by Jessie and James. Time for a double battle!

Straight after that it's time for another battle, with a mysterious man named Archer, who's an Admin for Team Rocket.

After that, Cubone's still in the hands of Team Rocket's Leader, Giovanni - it's time to take him on in battle to finally rescue that Cubone! Make sure you heal up first, while you have the chance.

When Giovanni's defeated, he'll hand you the Silph Scope as a reward - a mysterious device that allows you to see what those ghostly figures in Lavender Town's Pokémon Tower really are! Head back up to B1F via the lift, then up the stairs and out.

Outside, back in the regular part of Celadon City, there's a man nearby with a load of balloons attached to a strange device, who wasn't there before. Talk to him to learn another Secret Technique, Sky Dash! This is Pokémon Let's Go's version of Fly, meaning you can fly to any significant place you've already visited before. Heal up your Pokémon, then Sky Dash over to Lavender Town - to use it, head to the 'Play with Pikachu/Eevee' option in the menu and then select Secret Techniques on the right.

That's everything here for now, so can at last continue on, to Lavender Town for the next steps in your quest, which is seeing what's at the top of the Pokémon Tower with that new Silph Scope, or cycle back to our main Pokémon Let's Go walkthrough and guide hub for all the other pages we have like this.
