Pokémon Let's Go Route 11 - available Pokémon, items and trainers

Our complete Pokémon Let's Go walkthrough and guide to your big adventure with Pikachu or Eevee.

Route 11 is a simple route running eastwards, and is available to visit as soon as you reach Vermilion City in your quest through Pokémon Let's Go's main story.

Below, we'll cover any and all of the obtainable Pokémon, item locations, trainers and their squads that you might encounter in the area, as well as walking you through any key steps of the story along the way.

We've also opted to break out walkthrough pages down into sections, referring to each of your visits to a given location, seeing as you often backtrack or revisit various places in your quest to become Champion! Where applicable, we'll split our page into one section for each visit, and of course if there are any, clearly mark any spoilers, too!

For more like this, be it specific systems explainers or walkthrough pages on more locations, head back to our main Pokémon Let's Go walkthrough and guide hub.

Pokémon Let's Go: Route 11 - available Pokémon, items and trainers

You can explore Route 11 as soon as you reach Vermilion City, which might be handy if you want to do a little levelling before taking on the Gym, but whether you visit before or after you've beaten Lt. Surge you still won't be able to progress on to Route 12 out the other side.

That's because of a giant, sleeping Pokémon, a Snorlax, that's blocking the path. You can't pass through until you find a way to wake it up, so for now you need to go a different way. If you've yet to beat Lt. Surge then head back there and clear out S.S. Anne if you haven't done that either; if you have, then your way of bypassing the Snorlax is to take Diglett's Cave!

One final thing: there is something pretty noteworthy on this route that's easily missable. In the exit gate at the western end before the Snorlax, head upstairs and talk to the chap in the white lab coat - he's one of Professor Oak's Assistants! If you've caught more than 30 species of Pokémon (that's 30 different Pokémon), he'll unlock the Judge Function in your Pokémon Box. Make sure you get this! It allows you to easily check the stats of a Pokémon, similarly to how you can do so in Pokémon Go, but with even more clarity.
