Head to the suggested campsite. After finding the body, you'll want to search the crates at the far end of the camp for a cutscene.

Follow along from here until you reach another camp, where the abducted man is at the edge. After you find him, prepare for an ambush, which is a pretty standard firefight.

Now take the man back to his family (and receive a Gold Ingot worth $300 at a Fence for the trouble) to complete the mission - and Chapter 2.

The New South

The New South medal objectives:

  • Knock out Anders Anderson without taking a hit
  • Catch and return Anders Anderson to jail within 5 minutes 30 seconds
  • Catch a fish with Dutch and Hosea

This mission introduces you to the local town of Rhodes and the warring families. First, follow Hosea and Dutch until you meet with the prisoners and lawmen, and have to chase the train. If you mess up leaping the first time, try the other side - it shouldn't pull away that quickly.

Follow the gang along the train (remember it's Square, or X on Xbox, to vault up) until the fight at the very end - don't forget to block (Square, or X on Xbox) to get in some retaliatory hits.

Once done, ride to Rhodes, and after the cutscene, you'll decide whether you still want to go fishing. We recommend you do - it's a nice opportunity to spend some time with Hosea and Rhodes, and you'll practice catching some fish. At the end, you'll take the boat along the lake to camp, and you have a choice of missions to choose from.

Further Questions of Female Suffrage

Further Questions of Female Suffrage objectives:

  • Fend off the Lemoyne Raiders in less than 1 minute
  • Get 5 headshots
  • Complete with at least 85% accuracy
  • Complete the mission without taking any health items

You'll pick this up with Pearson at the camp after The New South. Head to town, and post the letter as instructed. On the way back from Rhodes you'll be ambushed. Ride ahead until you're forced to stop.

They'll surround you pretty quickly, but there are rocks on the corner you can sprint to and crouch behind. Clear the enemies - as usual, the mini-map is useful here - then return to camp.
