Meet Melmetal, the evolution of recently-revealed mythical Pokémon Meltan (AKA Nutboy).
Shown off today for the first time, Melmetal is a hulking liquid metal robot thing with a nut for a belly button.
Here's the usual comedy duo of Professor Willow and Professor Oak to introduce the new species:
The reveal of Melmetal is the last piece of the Meltan puzzle - an ingeniously laid-out reveal which saw Ditto, briefly hiding as Meltan, appear in Pokémon Go to introduce the creature.
A follow-up teaser officially named the species as a new mythical Pokémon, Meltan - not Nutto or Nutboi, as fans had decided. A further update then hinted Meltan could evolve - which now we know to be the case.
The mechanics for acquiring your own Meltan and Melmetal are still a little confusing, but it appears you'll be able to catch Meltan in Pokémon Go after interacting with someone who has Pokémon Let's Go on Switch.
