Hellgate: London back from the dead, hits Steam

Blimey.

Hellgate: London is back on Steam.

Developer T3 Entertainment and publisher HanbitSoft Inc. are responsible for the return of the infamous dark fantasy action role-playing game, which first launched in 2007 but died a couple of years later after struggling to make money. It's due out on Steam on 15th November 2018.

Korean company HanbitSoft bought Hellgate: London from original developer Flagship Studios back in 2010 and relaunched it as a free-to-play game in 2011.

Then, in 2014, Hellgate returned as a Steam Greenlight pitch as Hellgate Global, which includes a Tokyo expansion. But this didn't end up going anywhere on these shores.

Now, four years later, it looks like HanbitSoft is having another stab at making Hellgate: London relevant again, with version 2.0 of Hellgate: Tokyo back from the dead.

From the Steam page:

"With the support of many fans, developers have been able to offer the latest version of Hellgate: London game in the [sic] Steam.

"Hellgate: London provides a single play environment with the latest version (Version 2.0) of the Hellgate: Tokyo service.

"The game provides single play optimized scenario contents and premium support items."

Hellgate: London has lived a cursed existence for over a decade, but could it, finally, see some semblance of success?
