Dirt Rally 2.0 is coming to PC and consoles next year

Official WRX licence and plenty of traditional rally content.

Codemasters has announced a follow-up to 2015's much-loved Dirt Rally, with Dirt Rally 2.0 coming to PC and consoles early next year.

Dirt Rally 2.0 - whose name subtly references Colin McRae Rally 2.0, another much-loved Codemaster classic - will benefit from the official World Rallycross Championship licence and eight official WRX tracks and will also feature New Zealand, Argentina, Spain, Poland, Australia and the USA as locations. It will be without original game director Paul Coleman, though, the man responsible for the hardcore focus of the original Dirt Rally having left Codemasters back in June this year.

Last year also saw the release of Dirt 4, which introduced procedurally generated tracks and a broader focus - though Dirt Rally 2.0 will go down the hardcore route once more.

Dirt Rally 2.0's release date is set for February 26th 2019, with PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions announced.
