Searching for Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces at different basement locations is one of Fortnite's many Weekly Challenges.

Completing it will give you additional XP to help go towards your many Season 5 rewards. Note you'll need to be a Battle Pass holder in order to undertake this challenge.

If you're just getting started, our Fortnite Battle Royale tips and tricks can provide some helpful hints.

How searching Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces in basements works

For the Week 8 Challenges, you are tasked with the following:

  • Search Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces in Basements (10 total, 5 Battle Stars)

There are several other Challenges this week, including the search between a covered bridge, waterfall and the 9th green locations.

As the challenge suggests, mutliple Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces are dotted throughout the map.

Here's an example of one in the wild - listen out for the little noise they make if you're struggling to spot them.

They're only found in basements, but it's not confirmed just how many there are in the wild yet - we know there are at lesat eight confirmed, with talk of more - or what exactly counts as a basement (there are some other types of underground room that you might call a garage, say, or a cellar).

Still, there are obviously at least seven, and they obviously spawn in specific types of underground room, so we know where to start at least!

Finding them is simple enough - simply head to any building that you know has a basement and get looking.

As soon as you pick one up, that'll tick one off the list of seven, and thankfully it doesn't seem like you need to get them all in one round!

Need help with Fortnite Challenges? We have advice on how to complete the Jigsaw Puzzle Piece basement locations, and how to search between a covered bridge, waterfall and the 9th green. We also have pages on High Stakes rewards, Road Trip secret Battle Star locations and how to search Chests and Ammo Boxes. Finally, you can learn about how to get a Fortnite Android beta invite and the Fortnite Season 6 release date.

Fortnite Jigsaw Puzzle Piece and basement locations explained

Though you only need to find a total over seven Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces, there are presumably several more around the map.

Here are all Jigsaw Puzzle Piece and basement locations to find in Fortnite (thanks to REDDITOR on reddit and the rest of the sub for help filling in the gaps):

Fortnite Jigsaw Puzzle Piece locations map

Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces, by virtue of them being hidden underground, can't be spotted from the Battle Bus, so you'll need to have specific buildings in mind and drop into the right areas to then search on foot. Here's a rundown of eight locations where we've found them so far:

1. Retail Row Jigsaw Puzzle Piece location

2. Snobby Shores Jigsaw Puzzle Piece location

3. South of Snobby Shores Jigsaw Puzzle Piece location

4. Greasy Grove Jigsaw Puzzle Piece location

5. South of Greasy Grove Jigsaw Puzzle Piece location

6. Shifty Shafts Jigsaw Puzzle Piece location

7. Risky Reel Jigsaw Puzzle Piece location

8. North of Tomato Temple Jigsaw Puzzle Piece location

9. Salty Springs Jigsaw Puzzle Piece location

10. South of Lonely Lodge location

11. West of Risky Reels Puzzle Piece location

It's worth noting these locations will likely be pretty busy - particularly the areas where there are lots of buildings with basements and lots of people who like to regularly spawn there - so it might be better to just collect what you can while naturally playing and exploring, and dust off the final few later in the week.

Once you are done, there are plenty of other Challenges to take on this week - including the task to search between a covered bridge, waterfall and the 9th green locations - so keep on playing!
