Updated story (6:30pm): Fortnite is available now in North America - but players elsewhere will have to wait a little bit longer.

The game will launch at 5pm EST or 9pm UTC - that's 10pm in the UK.

Developer Epic Games confirmed it's the same game as on other platforms - same map, content and weekly updates.

Original story (5:15pm): Nintendo has just announced that Fortnite is coming to Nintendo Switch today at 6pm BST.

The game will be a free download from the eShop. Nintendo made the announcement during its E3 Nintendo Direct. Will there be Nintendo-themed skins to buy? No word yet, but I am (animal) crossing my fingers for a Spike costume.
