Fortnite Season 3 introduced a new rank and set of rewards for players to unlock over the coming months.

Many of these are locked behind the purchase of a Season 3 Battle Pass, giving you access to new skins, emotes and XP multipliers - provided you then put in the time and effort to then unlock them, of course.

If you're just getting started, our Fortnite Battle Royale tips and tricks can provide some helpful hints.

Fortnite Seasons and Battle Pass explained

Every few months, Fortnite enters a new season. Seasons give you a new opportunity to unlock a variety of rewards - including new character and weapon skins, loading screens, emotes and emoticons, and even V-Bucks - by levelling up over the course of the season.

The vast majority of these rewards, however, are locked behind Battle Pass ownership. While you can unlock a select number of the above with a Free Pass, it's only with a Battle Pass that a second tier of elusive rewards are unlocked.

1

The Battle Pass is a premium item, costing 950 V-Bucks. You can buy a bundle of 1,000 V-Bucks for around £8 / $10.

As soon as you purchase a Battle Pass, you'll unlock a 50% personal XP boost, 10% friend XP boost, Mission Specialist Outfit and the ability to undergo Weekly Challenges.

These are a new set of Challenges introduced weekly, ranging from performing certain types of activities or finding hidden objects on the map. Completing them helps you rank up your Battle Pass easier, give you those rewards faster.

Both these Battle Pass Challenges and the rewards can be unlocked at your leisure throughout the season, but once Season 4 begins, your progress resets, and a new set of rewards and rankings will begin.

When does Season 3 end and Season 4 start?

Fortnite Season 4 is set to begin on Tuesday, May 1st, which is when Season 3's ranking and rewards will come to a close.

With it should come another 100 Tiers of rewards to unlock, and possibly new types of Challenges, if the introduction of hidden treasure-style objectives during Season 3 is anything to go by.
