Mojang sets date for this year's MineCon Earth

Livestream event happening in September.

Mojang has announced that this year's MineCon Earth will take place on September 29th.

MineCon Earth 2018 will mark the second year that Mojang's annual MineCon event has gone fully digital, and will once again take the form of a brisk 90-minute interactive livestream, with a pre- and post-show either side. According to Mojang's official countdown clock at the time of writing, it will begin in precisely 170 days, 20 hours, 34 minutes and 58 seconds, so set your watches.

Mojang hasn't offered too many specifics regarding the activities it has planned for this year's livestream, but says it will feature live gameplay, the usual smattering of Minecraft-themed news and announcements, and that it will be focussed on the community.

To that end, it will be inviting select participants on-air to show off their cosplay and to present a variety of community-related panels.

Full details on how to get involved can be found on the MineCon website, and you can watch last year's Will-Arnett-starring livestream above.
