Far Cry 5 Prepper Stashes are some of the more unique activities you'll get up to in Hope County.
These are secret bunkers, each with a different method of opening them up. Once you solve the puzzle, you'll find a set of valuable loot inside.
What are Prepper Stashes in Far Cry 5?
Hope County may not be as large as previous sandboxes in the series, but it's still pretty huge and, as you might expect, it's filled to the brim with all manner of mysterious collectibles and goodies.
Prepper Stashes are one such point of interest, but rather than offering up one item to collect, these are in fact secret dumps of extremely useful resources.
There are 28 in total spread across the three main regions - Holland Valley, Henbane River and Whitetail Mountains - and a small tutorial location known as Dutch's Island.
Each one will have a different collection of items, ranging from ammunition, to perk points to weapons and they're an ideal for players in their early hours of play to bank plenty of cash and unlock those perks.
Each one will start with either a note left out in the overworld, or clues provided by an NPC wandering Hope County. You'll never be given a location on your map and a rough idea of how to get there. Think of them as puzzles will mild levels of difficulty attached. Some might even unlock vehicles...

What are the best Prepper Stash locations to visit?
Though Prepper Stash locations are some of the most interesting locations to visit in the game, there's a lot of ground to cover.
If it helps to narrow down the selection above, then consider going after the ones with unique rewards.
The good news is each one - bar the opening Sunken Funds tutorial - contains a small amount of cash (usually $1000) and three Perk Points from magazines, which is useful for helping you get upgrades quickly.
Others, however, have additional weapons, vehicle or costumes to find. These are:
- Swingers (Hunter outfit)
- Vespiary (Gold Medalist weapon skin)
- Foxhole (Militia Outfit)
- Playing With Fire (Molotov - Enhanced Recipe)
- Man Cave (2012 Kimberlite TCZ)
- Hanger Pains (Pack Hunter plane, Cheeseburger Bobblehead, Hares Magazine)
- The Holdouts (Vietnam lighter)
- Gone Squatchin' (Fishing Magazine: Chinook Salmon, vinyl crate)
- Overwatch (Flight Suit outfit)
- Getaway (1973 Pygmation SSR car)
In theory, you could mainline the above and other Prepper Stash locations, giving you a handful of interesting unlocks, as well as dozens of Perk Points to help upgrade your character for the rest of the game.
But as with everything in Far Cry 5 - the choice is yours!
