Fortnite now tells Mr. Hillman's students to stop playing in class

After teacher makes plea to Epic.

Epic has added a message to Fortnite's loading screen reminding students not to play in class, following complaints by teachers that the newly-released mobile version was distracting students.

Specifically, the message is addressed to the pupils of Mr. Hillman, a US-based teacher who appealed to Epic via Fortnite's official subreddit.

According to the BBC, the teacher's now-deleted post read: "My friends from college and I play [Fortnite] pretty much every night. One problem, since mobile came out my students won't stop playing in class." Mr. Hillman asked if Epic could add a specific message "to mess with them".

Brilliantly, Epic saw the post and did exactly that.

Epic's community manager KL Smith confirmed the studio had seen the teacher's plea, and posted an image of a newly-implemented loading screen for Fortnite's mobile version. Now, the game periodically reminds players: "Mr. Hillman says stop playing in class."
