Fortnite - Summit Mountain Peak locations explained

Where to summit different mountain peaks in Fortnite.

Finding mountain peak locations is one of Fortnite's many Weekly Challenges.

Completing it will give you additional XP to help go towards your many Season 3 rewards. Note you'll need to be a Battle Pass holder in order to undertake this challenge.

If you're just getting started, our Fortnite Battle Royale tips and tricks can provide some helpful hints.

Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. What's new? Chapter 4 Season 2 has arrived! New additions include the Grind Rails and Kinetic Blades, along with the new Battle Pass, character collection and Eren Jaeger skin. It's a good idea to know how to get XP fast in Fortnite.

How finding different mountain peaks works

For the Week 6 Challenges, you are tasked with the following:

  • Summit different mountain peaks (10 total, 5 Battle Stars)

Another on the list includes searching between a Metal Bridge, Three Billboards and a Crashed Bus.

If you are familiar with Fortnite, you'll know there are are multiple mountains you can scale across the map. If you reach the top of 10 of these peaks, you'll complete the challenge.

How the game visualises these specific peaks is with a white 'hologram' of a flag. Get close enough, and a flag with your emblem will be planted, confirming you have visited this peak.

Before...
...and after.

As most mountains are inaccessible from the ground (unless you have enough building materials), realistically you'll have to tick off these whenever you land for the first time in a match. As such, it may take many attempts before the challenge is completed.

As with other challenges, you must do these as you play matches (you cannot enter the map without other players), so you'll have to avoid combat encounters as you attempt to find each location.

Note you need to complete the match in order for the challenge to be finished - quitting the match as soon as you collect it won't work.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 is here! It brings a free Lego Insider skin and redemption codes with it, along with a new Victory Umbrella. We've also got pages on new features like Medallions, Weapon Mods, and how to complete a Train Heist. Meanwhile, learn what the best weapons are in the current season, how to get XP fast, and what the best PC settings are to help earn a Victory Crown.

Summit Mountain Peak locations in Fortnite

Though you need to find ten locations, thankfully there are many more across the map.

Though you can probably guess the highest mountains from the Battlebus, unlike bullseye locations, they are hard to spot from a distance.

As such, a map comes in handy. The following in-progress diagram from thomp2345__78 on the Fortnite subreddit shows a few locations found so far:

And if you want to do it quickly, there's a cluster on the west side of the map you can chain back-to-back to help you complete it faster. ChemBozz on the Fortnite subreddit explains how it goes:

Between the above two images, that should be enough to get the challenge completed. Best of luck!
