Fortnite: Battle Royale is getting a replay editor

Capture and review your played matches "soon".

Fortnite: Battle Royale is getting a replay editor, developer Epic Games has announced.

Shown on stage during the State of Unreal conference during GDC 2018, the editing suite allows players to review completed matches to capture footage using a free camera and create highlight reels, or use it to evaluate their performances.

There's plenty of settings you can mess around with - exposure, aperture, focal length and focus - as well as the opportunity to view live stats of each player's health, shield and equipped weapons during a match.

YouTube personality Ali-A was on stage to help show it off:

Epic didn't date when the editor is coming, simply saying it's due "soon" for consoles and PC.

These tools will also be available for other Unreal developers to use as part of the engine's 4.20 update this summer.

Fellow Battle Royale game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has had a replay editor for a several months now, and just this week released its mobile version for western audiences.

Fortnite has its own mobile version too, which is currently invite only on iOS.
