Zelda - Yah Rin and A Weighty Decision trial solution in Breath of the Wild

How to solve the Faron region trial.

Yah Rin is one of the many Shrines located throughout Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The challenge inside, named the A Weighty Decision trial, is a puzzle that has you use your Magnesis ability to manipulate platforms with various weights. Get it right, and you'll walk out a success.

If you need help finding and solving other Shrines, our Zelda: Breath of the Wild Shrine of Trials locations page can help, while our Zelda: Breath of the Wild walkthrough and guide covers other aspects of the game.

Where to find Yah Rin

The Yah Rin shrine is located within the Faron region, specifically just a short way to the north-west of Lurelin Village. To get there, follow the road due east from Faron tower, and it'll be just to your left as you enter Lurelin Village.

There's no puzzle to solve here in order to access the shrine, so simply dive in when you're ready.

On entering the shrine, you'll be greeted with two platforms and a metal cube - which look an awful lot like a pair of scales. Hop onto the left hand, lowered scale with the cube, and transfer the cube to the other scale using Magnesis.

That'll raise you up high enough to get onto the ledge, where you'll heave to defeat a low-level Guardian Scout on the other side.

At the end of that corridor is a chest behind a bit of railing. Lift it up with Magnesis and turn just to your left, where you'll see some more railing with a pressure pad the other side. Pop the chest on that pad to open the door and go through.

You can open the chest at any point, but we did it on the other side, to find a Knight's Broadsword.

In this chamber, there's a slightly more complicated scales puzzle. First, bring over the chest you just opened, and place it on the farthest platform on the left-hand side, and hop on with it.

Then transfer the chest to the platform on the back-right, which will lower that one and in turn raise the platform you're on, allowing you to access the wooden chest on the platform, which contains an opal.

Hop back across, to the back-right platform you just lowered, and then drop the chest on the back-left platform you just raised.

And the exit's in sight! Job done.
