Overwatch is free to play again this weekend

What Zarya waiting for?

Overwatch is free to play again this weekend on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, and there are discounts on the full game for those suitably enamoured by the experience.

In the UK, the free weekend begins today, Friday February 16th, at 7pm and runs until 7:59am on Tuesday February 20th. That's a start time of 11am PST today and an end time 11:59pm on February 19th for those in the US. There's a comprehensive list of start times across various territories over on Blizzard's website if you need to know more.

One thing to note: you'll need a Blizzard Battle.net account, a PlayStation Plus subscription, or an Xbox Live Gold subscription to get involved.

As is usual for Blizzard's free Overwatch weekends, PC, Xbox One and PS4 participants will have access to all 26 heroes and 17 maps throughout the event, with playable modes including Quick Play, Custom Games, and the Arcade. It'll be possible to level up, earn loot boxes, and unlock various customisation options while the event is on, and you'll be able to carry your progress over to the full game if you're impressed enough to buy it.

Should that apply to you, Blizzard will also be discounting the full game during the free weekend. You'll be able to pick up the Standard Edition for £16.99 and the Game of the Year Edition for £24.99 on PC through Blizzard's online store. The Game of the Year edition is also discounted to around £25 on the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store.
