Team Rocket blast off into Pokémon Go's wardrobe

It's a steal.

Pokémon villains Team Rocket have turned up in Pokémon Go with a new, dastardly scheme to steal your money - by selling their uniform as premium cosmetic clothing.

You can now dress your Pokémon Go avatar in the clothes of either classic Team Rocket or Rainbow Rocket from last year's Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

The downside? You have to pay up.

In prices befitting that of an organised mob, you can purchase the following with your hard-earned cash:

Male avatar options

  • Team Rocket Hat - 100 Coins
  • Team Rocket Top - 400 Coins
  • Team Rainbow Rocket Top - 400 Coins
  • Team Rocket Gloves - 50 Coins
  • Team Rocket Pants - 200 Coins
  • Team Rocket Boots - 200 Coins
  • Team Rainbow Rocket Boots - 200 Coins

Female avatar options

  • Team Rocket Hat - 100 Coins
  • Team Rocket Top - 400 Coins
  • Team Rainbow Rocket Top - 400 Coins
  • Team Rocket Gloves - 50 Coins
  • Team Rocket Skirt - 100 Coins
  • Team Rocket Belt - 100 Coins
  • Team Rainbow Rocket Belt - 100 Coins
  • Team Rocket Boots - 200 Coins
  • Team Rainbow Rocket Boots - 200 Coins

100 Coins translates to 79p of your UK cash. They do look rather nice, though?

Of course, you can earn up to 50 Coins a day by holding gyms in the game - although it would take you weeks to save up for a full outfit and you wouldn't be able to spend your coins on anything else useful, such as Incubators, in the meantime.

Today marks the final day of Pokémon Go's Valentines event. Next up is the Dratini-focused February Community Day, scheduled for 24th Saturday.
