Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon - Route 15, Aether House, and Route 16

Our in-progress walkthrough for the whole Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon island challenge and beyond.

Route 15, Aether House and Route 16 are next up on your Ula'ula challenge, with Team Skull continuing to make themselves a nuisance.

Here on this page we'll explain all you need to know about the story and main events as they unfold here, and as with all pages of our walkthrough we'll highlight any and all trainers, items and wild Pokémon available to catch as well.

For more general guides and other walkthrough pages like this meanwhile, head back to our main Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon walkthrough and guide hub.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Route 15 and Aether House

First up, head to Aether House again. You'll find Team Skull have returned more forcefully than before, with the Admin Plumeria there herself!

Tackle her - Psychic moves do well thanks to common Poison typings on her team of two, as does Rock thanks to their secondary types - and afterwards you'll find they took one of the children's Pokémon, a Yungoos, with them too!

Their base is in Po Town, so that's your next destination. Head there through Route 15, 16, and Ula'ula Meadow to the west.

Back out on Route 15 you'll need a new Pokémon registered to your Ride Pager to progress. Talk to the weird man in black and white on the beach (has's called Grimsley, and is from a previous Pokémon generation), and he'll register Sharpedo Jet, effectively a Tauros Ride but for surfing, to your Pager.

Use Sharpedo Jet to smash through Rocks whilst on water - and note that occasionally there'll be an item dropped from the rocks afterwards, so keep an eye out as you speed around! Explore the rest of Route 15, then to the north of that on the shore you'll find the brief Route 16.

TRAINERS POKEMON ITEMS

For more on Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon, head to our main Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon walkthrough and guide hub, which includes guides to new Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Pokémon and Pokédex changes, the Festival Plaza, a list of Global Missions and rewards, an explainer on Pokémon Bank, a dedicated page on Pokémon Competitive Training, including IV Training, EVs and hidden stats, Breeding 6IV Pokémon explained and how to farm Bottle Caps fast for Hyper Training. What's more, we have pages on the Rockruff event for getting Dusk Form Lycanroc and, last but not least, a full Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon QR codes list for adding all Pokémon to your Pokédex.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Route 16

Route 16 is simple enough - a few trainers, some long grass, a handy Pokémon Center and a small building called Aether Base.

Aether Base is tied to Zygarde, if you didn't already know from Pokémon Sun and Moon, but you won't be able to do anything significant there yet. Just note that, towards the back of the pop-up building you'll be able to crawl underneath (look for the muddy patch on the grass). On the other wise is a Preschooler who'll battle you, and the powerful TM81 X-Scissor.

Next up: Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon - Ula'ula Meadow and Route 17

Heads up there's a Team Skull Grunt actually inside the Pokémon Center who you can battle, but other than that just rest up and save up, then it's onwards north to the meadow!
